two ways angels appear to you

Two ways angels appear to you

For many people, one of their desires is to see an angel. In all honesty, many people pray and desire to see an angel. However, there are also many Christians who don't believe angels are real. But you cannot believe in the reality of the Bible and not believe in angels. There are many verses in the Scriptures pointing to the fact that angels are real and they are actively working. It may surprise or even shock you that there is a possibility that you have seen an angel and never knew it. Today we are going to look at two ways angels appear to you. The first way angels appear is just as normal people. Normal human beings.

HEBREWS 13:2.  BE NOT FORGETFUL TO ENTERTAIN STRANGERS FOR THEREBY. SOME HAVE ENTERTAINED ANGELS UNAWARES.

The passage makes direct reference to Genesis chapter 18 and 19, when Abraham and Lot showed hospitality to mysterious visitors who in reality were messengers sent by God. Abraham and lot literally entertained angels. Hospitality and generosity are often underappreciated in Christian circles. Kindness being kind to even strangers. I am not talking about being kind to only your family members or your close friends, but I am talking about being kind to people from a different background. Being kind to people from different socio economic backgrounds. Being kind to people from different ethnicities. Kindness is a must. My mother growing up used to always say to me, Be kind to everyone. You don't know what they are going through. Isn't that so true? And this is something we as Christians need to see in our lives.

One of the fruits of the Holy Spirit is kindness. I am so surprised at people who claim to be Christians, yet they are as mean as a rattlesnake. Hebrews Chapter 13, verse two Be not forgetful to entertain strangers for thereby. Some have entertained angels unaware. This is evidence that angels can appear in the appearance of normal men just like normal people. Nothing supernatural about them. Nothing extraordinary about them. Just normal men. This is what they appear to Abraham and lot as. And even at the ascension of Jesus Christ, two angels appeared as normal, ordinary men.

 ACTS1:9-11.

AND WHEN HE HAD SPOKEN THESE THINGS WHILE THEY BEHELD, HE WAS TAKEN UP AND THE CLOUD RECEIVED HIM OUT OF THEIR SIGHT. AND WHILE THEY LOOKED STEADFASTLY TOWARD HEAVEN AS HE WENT UP,

BEHOLD, TWO MEN STOOD BY THEM IN WHITE APPAREL, WHICH ALSO SAID, YE MEN OF GALILEE, WHY STAND YE GAZING UP INTO HEAVEN? THIS SAME JESUS WHICH IS TAKEN UP FROM YOU INTO HEAVEN, SHALL SO COME IN LIKE MANNER AS YE HAVE SEEN HIM GO INTO HEAVEN.

I wonder, I just wonder how many angels have you come across in your life? And you were not even aware that the person you were talking to was an angel. The second way angels appear is in a form that you can tell they are angels. Have you ever noticed that when angels visit people within the Bible, they tend to start by saying, Don't fear or fear not.

There is clearly something about angels which invokes fear and human beings. The world portrays angels as mild looking, effeminate, chubby kids. This depiction of angels clearly does not originate in the Bible. We all know that the many eye, cherubim and the burning zephram would be pretty scary to see. But even standard looking angels have something that is very supernatural in all inspiring about them. In REVELATION 22:8-9, we see the tremendous presence of angels. So much so that John fell to worship the angel.

REVELATION 22:8-9 AND I JOHN SAW THESE THINGS AND HEARD THEM.

AND WHEN I HAD HEARD AND SEEN, I FELL DOWN TO WORSHIP BEFORE THE FEET OF THE ANGEL WHICH SHOWED ME THESE THINGS.

THEN HE SAITH UNTO ME, SEE THOU DO. WOULD NOT, FOR I AM THY FELLOW SERVANT AND OF THY BRETHREN, THE PROPHETS AND OF THEM WHICH KEEP THE SAYINGS OF THIS BOOK. WORSHIP GOD.

Now, imagine if John had this reaction about an angel. Imagine our reaction when we see God. People attempt to say when they see God, they will do this. When they see God, they will do that or ask God this or that question. I firmly believe that when we see God initially, all we will be able to do is worship Him. There is a glory about God that not even angels can compete with. Our God is a consuming fire.

Our God is a consuming fire. No man has seen God and lived. If you saw God in the body you have right now, your spirit would leave your body faster than you can blink. There is indeed a glory about God that even angels, even angels cannot compare. Look at the reaction of mankind. Look at the reaction of mankind. To see angels. Daniel trembled in the presence of the Angel Gabriel and Zechariah was outright afraid. And Daniel Chapter ten, verse eight through 19, in Luke, chapter one, verse 11 through 13, the angels say, Fear not. One of the first things the angel says to Hagar is fear not.

When an angel appeared to the shepherds outside of Bethlehem, they didn't tremble like Daniel or become troubled like Hagar and Zechariah. They were terrified. No wonder the Angels first words were fear not. When an angel appears to Paul to assure him that he and all his companions would survive the dangers of the storm and shipwreck, the first thing the angel says is fear not. There is something supernatural about angels when they appear in this form that clearly invokes fear into humans. Well, angels are able to be in the direct presence of God and see Him. That alone should tell you something about them, because we in our sin are unable to see God currently. God will one day give you and I a glorified body, a body that is pure, a body that is able to be in the presence of God.

This mortal must put on immortality. Don't you want to put on immortality? That is what awaits you. Jesus talked about the angels that guide the people in how they report to God in MATTHEW 10:18. SEE THAT YOU DO NOT DESPISE ONE OF THESE LITTLE ONES, FOR I TELL YOU THAT THEIR ANGELS IN HEAVEN ALWAYS SEE THE FACE OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN. What Jesus was saying is that from the time you were born, you already have at least one angel with you. It doesn't matter who you are. It doesn't matter where you were born. But the moment you open your eyes into this world, you have an angel with you.

Jesus sent these angels report to God and they see God face to face. As you are growing up, these angels don't leave you. They will never leave you. These angels are always active. They work tirelessly day and night. They don't sleep too. Don't say I don't believe in angels. Don't say I don't need an angel. Don't say you can do it all by yourself. They are there to minister to you.

HEBREWS1:14. ARE THEY NOT ALL MINISTERING SPIRITS SENT FORTH TO MINISTER FOR THEM WHO SHALL BE HEIRS OF SALVATION? The Bible records that there are multitudes of angels in heaven. According to Hebrews Chapter 12, verse 22, the company of angels in Heaven are innumerable. Some of us have been held by an angel without knowing it. They are ministering spirits sent to minister to the needs of the saints who are the heirs of salvation.

As long as believers are on earth, the Ministry of Angels to them will never cease. And there is a possibility that they could appear visibly if the need arises. We as children of God are not to ignore the reality of angels. They are real and they watch over you. Even Jesus, who was filled with the power of the Holy Ghost from the womb, was strengthened by angels.

Luke 22:39-43, JESUS WENT OUT AS USUAL TO THE MOUNT OF OLIVES, AND HIS DISCIPLES FOLLOWED HIM. ON REACHING THE PLACE, HE SAID TO THEM, PRAY THAT YOU WILL NOT FALL INTO TEMPTATION.

HE WITHDREW ABOUT A STONE'S THROW BEHIND THEM, KNELT DOWN AND PRAYED. FATHER, IF YOU ARE WILLING, TAKE THIS CUP FROM ME. YET NOT MY WILL, BUT YOURS BE DONE. AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN APPEARED TO HIM. AND STRENGTHENED HIM.

Throughout the scriptures, we find angels ministering to people either physically or through their dreams and sometimes invisibly. Both the Old and New Testaments record the visible manifestation of Angels. In my position is that if they appear to people visible in times past, they still appear to people today in this age. Angels do still appear to people today. Nowhere in the Bible are we told that angels no longer appear to people. This Bible is a book full of angels, and we live in a world with a great deal of angelic activity.
