REVELATION 13:18: The identity and origin of the Antichrist

The identity and origin of the Antichrist is a subject that stirs much debate and controversy within our faith community. This enigmatic figure has captivated the minds and hearts of many throughout history, and questions persist regarding the part of the world he will come from his inherent nature and the world's awareness of his ascent to power.

2 THESSALONIANS 2 : 7 FOR THE MYSTERY OF INIQUITY DOTH ALREADY WORK. ONLY HE WHO NOW LETTETH WILL LET UNTIL HE BE TAKEN OUT OF THE WAY.

Second Thessalonians Chapter two, verse seven, speaks to us about the presence of lawlessness and the imminent unveiling of the man of lawlessness, also known as the Antichrist. This Scripture reveals profound truths about the nature of evil and the role of restrainer in our world. We witness the pervasive influence of lawlessness acts contrary to God's commandments, are committed daily, and wickedness seems to be increasing. However, it is essential to recognize that the principle of lawlessness has been present since the fall when sin entered the world. The Apostle Paul reminds us that this principle is already at work, albeit in varying degrees throughout history. The passage in second Thessalonians chapter two, verses one through 12, unveils the ultimate manifestation of lawlessness. The man of lawlessness commonly known as the Antichrist. This figure will emerge on the world stage, representing the epitome of wickedness and rebellion against God. It is crucial to understand that the Antichrist does not introduce a new form of evil, but rather intensifies and personifies the existing lawlessness present in humanity.

While lawlessness exists, we are reminded that there is a divine restraint on its full revelation. The Holy Spirit referred to as, quote, He who restrains, acts as a powerful force, limiting the extent to which evil can prevail. This restraint prevents the complete unveiling of the man of sin and the dominion of darkness. Currently, the passage emphasizes that even now, in our present time, the mystery of lawlessness is already at work. Though we may not fully comprehend its workings, we observe its effects and influence in our societies. We witness the disregard for truth, the erosion of moral values and the oppression of the vulnerable. Yet we are not without hope, for we know that God is in control and is aware of the mystery of lawlessness. However, he who now letteth will let until he be taken out of the way. There will be a point where the restrainer will be taken out of the way. The concept of the Antichrist, as depicted in the Bible, represents a person that opposes and works against the Kingdom of God. While scriptures provide glimpses and clues, they do not explicitly reveal the identity or the specific details of the antichrist's origin. This lack of clarity has led to various theories and interpretations throughout the ages. Many people have been falsely labeled as the Antichrist over the years. Some former presidents are still perceived to potentially be the Antichrist.

Billionaires are theorized to be the Antichrist. No doubt that if you were to become a billionaire today and came up with an invention that changed the world and you became a world leader, someone somewhere would describe you as potentially being the Antichrist. The truth is, no one knows who he is. However, today we are going to look at some theories and biblical proofs surrounding him. Please note I have to be clear from the onset I do not support every theological view I am discussing today. I am simply presenting different theological views to you today so that you can reach your own conclusion. Origin and nature of the Antichrist. Many questions surround the origin and nature of the Antichrist. Some speculate whether he will be born inherently evil or if he will become evil over time. Scripture does not provide a definitive answer to this question, leaving room for personal interpretation and differing theological views. Allow me to introduce you to the Solomon's Wages theory.

REVELATION  13:18. HERE IS WISDOM. LET HIM THAT HATH UNDERSTANDING. COUNT THE NUMBER OF THE BEAST, FOR IT IS THE NUMBER OF A MAN, AND HIS NUMBER IS 600, THREESCORE AND SIX.

Throughout history, many theories have emerged attempting to unveil the meaning behind this number. One such theory connects it to King Solomon. The Solomon's Wages Theory connects 6 6 6 to Solomon's Wealth in First Kings Chapter ten, verse 14, we learn that Solomon received yearly 666 Talents of Gold.

1 KINGS10:14. NOW THE WEIGHT OF GOLD THAT CAME TO SOLOMON IN ONE YEAR WAS 603 SCORE AND SIX TALENTS OF GOLD.

Some suggest that this reference highlights a parallel between Solomon and the Antichrist. Solomon, once known for his wisdom and wealth, eventually succumbed to corruption and idolatry. The basic premise of this theory is that the Antichrist may start as seemingly a good person who becomes corrupted over time, just as Solomon became corrupt over time. The Antichrist embodies the spirit of rebellion against God, seeking to deceive and lead people astray. Throughout history, there have been figures who could be seen as types or foreshadowings of the Antichrist, but ultimately the full manifestation of the Antichrist will be revealed in the end times as described in Revelation. An opposing view to this theory can be seen in modern day interpretations of the Antichrist that the Antichrist will be born evil. A quote unquote demon child who will hide his evil from the world until he ascends into power. This may explain the popularity in the film The Omen, which is a horror film released in 1976, directed by Richard Donner. It tells a chilling story centered around Damien Thorn, a young boy who turns out to be the Antichrist, the son of Satan himself. Please note I have to be clear from the onset I do not support every theological view I am discussing today.

I am simply presenting different theological views to you today so that you can reach your own conclusion. Now let us move on to the geographical origin of the Antichrist. The topic of the Antichrist origin is highly debated and often stirs intense discussion. It is important, however, to approach this subject with caution and humility, recognizing that the Bible does not provide explicit details regarding the specific geographical location of the Antichrist's emergence. While scholars have made attempts to identify the exact origin, country or continent from which the Antichrist will come, it is crucial to note that no one can claim certainty among the various theories. An intriguing one suggests that the arrival of the Antichrist may involve the presence of alien beings from another planet. While this notion may seem peculiar, it holds plausibility within a Christian perspective. It is important to note that although the Bible does not directly address the existence of extraterrestrial life, there is no mention of them in the Genesis creation account or elsewhere. However, the Bible does inform us about visitors from another world, the spiritual realm. The question of whether the Antichrist could be part of an alien deception is an intriguing one. While there is no scriptural support for the existence of aliens, it is possible that they could be involved in the end time deception. It is important to clarify that this does not confirm the existence of aliens, as the Bible does not explicitly mention them.

However, it depends on what exactly your definition of alien is. Webster Dictionary defines aliens as, quote, coming from another world. Extraterrestrial by that definition. Angels and demons fall under this category because angels and demons are not of this world, and they come from another world, the spirit world. The Bible does inform us about visitors from another world, the spiritual world. Since the beginning of the world, there are records of the devil and his fallen angels physically interacting with this world. Firstly, the devil was seen in the Garden of Eden, where he deceived Adam and Eve, leading to the fall of humanity. Secondly, there is an account of fallen angels having relations with human women, resulting in the creation of the Nephilim, a hybrid of humans and angels.

GENESIS 6 : 4 THERE WERE GIANTS ON THE EARTH IN THOSE DAYS AND ALSO AFTERWARD, WHEN THE SONS OF GOD CAME INTO THE DAUGHTERS OF MEN AND THEY BORE CHILDREN TO THEM. THOSE WERE THE MIGHTY MEN WHO WERE OF OLD MEN OF RENOWN.

Ancient cultures such as Sumerians worshipped gods known as the Anunnaki. Providing additional support for the idea of beings from another world interacting with mankind. Revelation, Chapter 13, verse 15, states he was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

It is evident that the Antichrist will introduce a new form of worship that will be universally enforced and widely accepted. Considering the challenge of persuading people to abandon their deep rooted religions, it is difficult for any political leader to unite world religions, let alone make one religion the head of all others. However, an alien being could potentially serve as the catalyst connecting all world religions or providing an otherworldly knowledge persuasive enough to unite people. Throughout history, wars have been fought and lives have been lost over religious beliefs. For the Antichrist to convince the world to forsake religions that have existed for thousands of years. He would need to present himself as a truly supernatural being. This is why some people entertain the belief that the Antichrist will be an extraterrestrial entity uniting all of humanity.

Consider for a moment the astonishment and worship that would follow if a being from another world would arrive on Earth, given the world's inclination to worship individuals, including celebrities. This planet already elevates ordinary humans to the status of idols. Now imagine an alien deception with a being from another planet bringing solutions to global problems. Economic crisis, natural disasters and claiming knowledge about Earth's origins or even being its creator. People would undoubtedly worship such a being. Even those who currently attend religious services. The question of the Earth's origin remains unanswered in the world, despite the, quote, Big Bang Theory which fails to explain the source of the initial explosion.

Therefore, if alien beings were to arrive and provide the extraterrestrial explanation for life on Earth, the origins of world religions and the origins of our planet, it would be highly persuasive, convincing billions of people to abandon their religions and embrace a single unified worship would require something supernatural. That is precisely what the devil seeks. The worship of the world. And I believe the devil will stop at nothing to gain the worship of the world he's always craved for. The Bible shows us instances where beings not of this world have come to this world and interacted with this world and the people of this world. So it is not far fetched that it could happen again. This is one of the many theories surrounding the identity of the Antichrist and how we will obtain power and enforce his religion. Whichever the case, believers are not to be scared or afraid of the deceptions that are ongoing in the world and the ones that may surface later. Once your faith and hope is built on the finished works of Christ and you are in a close relationship with the Holy Spirit, you cannot be victim to deception. All we need to do is live our lives in a way that is pleasing to God. Do you think that this theory of who the Antichrist is is plausible?
