Popular lies Christians believe

Popular lies Christians believe.

2 PETER 2 : 1 - 2. BUT THERE WERE ALSO FALSE PROPHETS AMONG THE PEOPLE. JUST AS THERE WILL BE FALSE TEACHERS AMONG YOU. THEY WILL SECRETLY INTRODUCE DESTRUCTIVE HERESIES, EVEN DENYING THE SOVEREIGN LORD WHO BOUGHT THEM, BRINGING SWIFT DESTRUCTION ON THEMSELVES. MANY WILL FOLLOW THEIR SHAMEFUL WAYS AND WILL BRING THE WAY OF TRUTH INTO DISREPUTE.

The Bible warns believers, especially before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ against heresies. We must therefore be careful as believers not to be led astray by false teachers and prophets who teach people against the sound doctrines recorded in the scriptures, and also dilute the truths of God's Word. We need to be aware of the fact that God's standards cannot be bent r any reason. God's word is explicit and cannot be changed. In fact, the Bible says that it is settled in heaven. The implication of having the Word of God settled in heaven is that it can never be subject to alterations. No matter how we try to get the Word of God twisted or have our ways around it. Its foundation is sure and immovable. This gospel cannot be changed. GALATIANS 1 : 8. BUT EVEN IF WE OR AN ANGEL FROM HEAVEN PREACH ANY OTHER GOSPEL TO YOU THAN WHAT WE HAVE PREACHED TO YOU, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.

The Bible is final and cannot be altered.

There is a view in some circles that the Bible has been changed and is inaccurate, because men changed it many years ago. My answer to that is that you clearly don't know the God from Genesis one verse one. God created the heaven and the earth, and seen as God created the heaven and the earth. Surely, surely he can maintain the integrity of his Bible. Today, there are many lies that believers have accepted which are against the written word of God. And we must look at this point before it is too late. No matter how popular a lie is, it can never become the truth.

The Bible says that we shall know the truth, and the truth shall set us free. What freedom does truth grant to us as believers? It is freedom from the bondage of deception and lies. Lie. One that when we get to heaven, we become angels. It's become popular in our culture to say heaven gained another angel when someone passes on. I imagine this is just an expression we use, and in that regard it can come across as harmless. However, I do want to point out that as humans, we most certainly do not become angels when we go to heaven. We humans are unique in creation and have a special dignity.

MATTHEW 22 : 29 - 30. JESUS ANSWERED AND SAID UNTO THEM, YE DO HEIR NOT KNOWING THE SCRIPTURES, NOR THE POWER OF GOD.

FOR IN THE RESURRECTION THEY NEITHER MARRY, NOR ARE GIVEN IN MARRIAGE, BUT ARE AS THE ANGELS OF GOD IN HEAVEN.

The Bible never at any point told us that we shall become angels when we get to heaven. To believe such is to believe in a lie. In the above passage, the Sadducees had asked Jesus a question about who would marry the woman who had seven separate husbands on earth at the resurrection of the dead. Sadducees do not believe in the resurrection of the dead. The answer Jesus gave the Sadducees is what many people misinterpret to mean that we will become angels when we get to heaven. But that's not true. Jesus's answer to the Sadducees was that there would be no marriage in heaven. We shall be as angels. The figure of speech that Jesus used is the simile. Jesus only compared our eternal nature to that of angels. That we shall be like angels does not mean that we will become angels. The two statements do not have the same implication. The Bible tells us that we shall have a wonderful body like Jesus's. PHILIPPIANS 3 : 21 WHO WILL TRANSFORM OUR LOWLY BODY, THAT IT MAY BE CONFORMED TO HIS GLORIOUS BODY, ACCORDING TO THE WORKING BY WHICH HE IS ABLE EVEN TO SUBDUE ALL THINGS TO HIMSELF.

We shall have glorified bodies without sickness. Bodies that don't get tired. Bodies that don't age. I cannot even begin to imagine how wonderful and beautiful that will be. But we will not be angels. In actuality, the Bible tells us. 1 CORINTHIANS 6 : 3, WE SHALL JUDGE ANGELS. In GALATIANS 4 : 7 and Romans eight, verse 17. The Bible tells us that we believers are heirs with Christ. GALATIANS 4 : 7, WHEREFORE THOU ART NO MORE A SERVANT, BUT A SON. AND IF A SON, THEN AN HEIR OF GOD THROUGH CHRIST. ROMANS 8 : 17. AND IF CHILDREN, THEN HEIRS, HEIRS OF GOD, AND JOINT HEIRS WITH CHRIST, IF SO BE THAT WE SUFFER WITH HIM, THAT WE MAY ALSO BE GLORIFIED TOGETHER. Angels are not. We do not become angels. When we go to heaven, we are higher than them in creation and destiny. The Bible calls us royal and says we are made kings and priests. Angels are ministering spirits sent to minister to us. We have been provided oneness with God. The Bible tells us we will be like him and with him. 1 JOHN 3 : 2 BELOVED, NOW ARE WE THE SONS OF GOD? AND IT DOTH NOT YET APPEAR THAT WE SHALL BE. BUT WE KNOW THAT WHEN HE SHALL APPEAR, WE SHALL BE LIKE HIM, FOR WE SHALL SEE HIM AS HE IS.

2 CORINTHIANS 5 : 8. WE ARE CONFIDENT, I SAY, AND WILLING RATHER TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY AND TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD. Let's move on to lie #2 BECAUSE I MADE ONE PRAYER, I am saved. EPHESIANS 2 : 8 - 9. FOR BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH. AND THAT NOT OF YOURSELVES IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD, NOT OF WORKS, LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST.

While the devil will be happy to keep us in deceptions until it is too late, prayer has never been the basis for the salvation of anyone's. It is true to pray is a necessity for believers. No one will dispute that. But prayer does not in any way get us saved. Prayer is rather the aftermath of our salvation.

There are no two ways of getting saved other than through faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. Faith is our access route into salvation. If you have not repented from your sins and believed in Jesus Christ as the Son of God who was sacrificed for our sins, you can never be saved until Jesus is believed in the heart and confessed with the mouth as Lord and Savior. No one can be saved, no matter how prayerful a man is. He must not be misled into thinking that his prayers will get him saved.

You are not saved because you made one prayer at one time in your life. That is incorrect. Salvation is through faith in Jesus Christ. Faith in the central figure of the Bible. Faith in his finished work on the cross. Then salvation is followed by repentance and a hunger and thirst for righteousness and holiness. You see, repentance is turning your back on sin. Turning your back on the things of the world. You begin to hate the things that God hates and begin to love the things that God loves. And then a hunger for holiness. Salvation has a divine order which nothing else can guarantee other than faith in Christ.

Lie. #2. I HAVE TO BE PERFECT.

What a lie! A lot of us believe this lie, and it is so sad to see because people go through their life, never been able to celebrate who they are now as a child of God, or the progress they have made in their walk with Christ. The only perfect person to ever live on the face of this earth was Jesus. Accept this truth and let it liberate you. The truth is, no matter how hard you try and push and try, none of us, not one of us, will be perfect. This does not give us a free pass to live any way we want. But you must strive to live your life as Jesus. We won't ever be able to match his perfection, but we can aim to get as close as we can. The Bible tells us to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. We have to continually work out our salvation. There needs to be progression. There needs to be growth.
