Generally speaking, grace is "God's kindness toward the unworthy" or "God's benevolence on the undeserving" in Christian terminology. Even when we fall short of leading a blameless life, God is prepared to pardon us and bless us out of His grace.

We "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ," but it doesn't happen immediately (2 Peter 2:18). Grace alters our motivations, desires, and conduct.
